Lowpoly Lamp
A generative lamp, coded in processing using HE_Mesh library. The overal shape is generated as a convex hull of a random point cloud, or as deformed dodecahedron. From the main volume corner pieces are generated that can be 3D printed (in this case on our reprap) and panels that can be lasercut in translucent acrylic.

This is part of a series of experiments trying to physically build digital generated geometry, both as a structure and their aesthetic. The method of printed corner pieces works good for convex meshes, but not all meshes are suitable. I am pleased with the difference between the interior and exterior lit version and the contrast between black corner pieces and white panels.
